Luqiao, China, recently produced the 100,000th Polestar 2. The car in question will have distinctive door marks to commemorate the achievement and is going to a customer in Ireland, one of the newest Polestar markets.

“It’s an amazing achievement – especially given we launched the Polestar 2 during the pandemic. Thank you to the team and all our customers who have joined us on this exciting journey,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.

Since its initial delivery in July 2020, Polestar 2 has undergone constant improvement. Remote over-the-air (OTA) updates have allowed for the addition of a number of features, including the ability to expand real-world range, speed up charging, add an eco-climate function, and improve battery preconditioning.

The completely electric Polestar 2 provides a superior driving experience in addition to other features. The switch to a Polestar 2 is a significant climate action since, when powered by sustainable energy, it emits less greenhouse gases over the course of its life than its fossil-fuel equivalent. With 100,000 Polestar 2s produced, the company says we well on our way to accelerating the transition to the electric age by getting as many people as possible behind the wheel.
