The Western Development Commission is a statutory body formed in 1998, promoting economic and social development in the Western Region of Ireland (counties Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, Galway and Clare). The primary goal of the WDC is to encourage the development of the regions rural economy based on the sustainable development of the Western Region’s strengths and resources. Some key projects include our €75m Western Investment Fund which has supported FMCI, the National Hubs Network ConnectedHubs.ie, and Westernjobs.ie.
