Amer Akhtar is the Chief Revenue Officer at DeepMap in Silicon Valley, the leading provider of HD mapping and localization solutions, an essential component of the autonomous software stack that will revolutionize mobility. His career spans over 25 years of investment in, and operation of, technology businesses as a CxO, board member and advisor.
Most recently, Amer was the founding COO and Head of US of XPT, a division of the newly-public electric vehicle company NIO, and led US operations, strategy, M&A and investment in early stage technology companies related to the EV/AV markets.
Prior to joining XPT, Amer was VP and General Manager of Yahoo Small Business, where he managed a $100M+ technology business focused on e-commerce and online presence. From 2009 to 2013 he was Managing Director and Country President for ADP in Shanghai, China, where he built the core business from the ground up to be the leading provider in the HR software sector.
After graduating from Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Amer first worked for Braxton Associates (now Deloitte Consulting) as a strategy consultant. He then ran business development for Vicinity Corporation, a provider of wireless location-based services acquired by Microsoft after an IPO, and later joined Investor AB, a $2B growth stage investment fund, where he invested in and managed deals in the technology sector.
